CONSORTIUM GULF OF POETS
GEMS is the experiential portal of the Gulf of Poets and the Apuan Ligurian Area Tourism Consortium — a network of tourism businesses working together to offer high-quality hospitality and personalized services.
Our goal is to promote an extraordinary region, stretching between Liguria and Tuscany, by offering a kind of tourism that blends hospitality, culture, nature, and food & wine into one authentic experience.
Through the collaboration of hotels, farmhouses, villas, tour guides, boat tour providers and specialized travel operators, GEMS makes it easy to organize unique trips and experiences.
Where we operate
Our network encompasses the Apuan Ligurian Vast Area, a territory that includes the provinces of La Spezia, Massa-Carrara and Lucca.
Our proposals are developed between:
- The Gulf of Poets
- The Cinque Terre (UNESCO World Heritage Site)
- The Val di Vara and the Val di Magra
- The Apuan Alps and Lunigiana

What we do
GEMS offers tailor-made tourist stays and experiences, thanks to an integrated system of services to meet the needs of individual travelers, families and groups.
Our solutions include:
- Hospitality in hotels, B&Bs, farmhouses, apartments and luxury villas
- Excursions and activities with tourist and environmental guides
- Services of private transportation and nautical charter
- Food, wine, cultural and sports experiences
- Organization of events, ceremonies and corporate meetings
In this network, the associated tour operators play an important role in organizing customized packages and managing logistics, in close cooperation with other Consortium partners.
Our Story
The Golfo dei Poeti and Area Vasta Ligure Apuana Congress Tourist Consortium was established more than 20 years ago with the aim of enhancing the territory of the Gulf of Poets and fostering the development of local tourist accommodation.
Over the years, the Consortium has expanded its activities, involving a growing number of businesses and services to offer a comprehensive hospitality system capable of meeting the new demands of contemporary tourism.
Collaborations
We work in synergy with public agencies, associations and tourism operators to ensure a quality and constantly evolving tourism proposal.
Major collaborations include:
- Meet in Liguria → for the development of business tourism (MICE) and corporate events
- Liguria Together → for the joint promotion of the Ligurian territory in national and international markets
- Liguria Region and “In Liguria” Agency → for the implementation of territorial marketing projects and participation in development tenders
- European projects and regional calls → to support innovation and sustainability in tourist accommodation
- For.Te Fund. → Training programs and professional development for the Consortium member operators.
