Shared Tour – Carrara’s Marble Quarries

Pick-up and drop off in La Spezia at 9.50 am.

The tour will begin aboard a minivan that will reach the central marble basin of Carrara through the ancient tunnels where the famous steam-powered “Marmifera” used to pass, with a short stop at Ponti di Vara.

Once you reach the heart of the mountain, you will take a shared guided tour by foot through the “Cathedral of Marble” to discover the secrets of this precious material and how it is extracted.

As a final stop, guests will be taken to the characteristic village of Colonnata for a typical lunch based on the famous Lardo and other local products.
